i don’t know about you, but right now we really miss hating the summer heat. it’s friggin cold mr bigglesworth!
i think it’s the perfect time to break out alex and danielle’s smokin hot St Thomas wedding on Lindquist beach. that’s right. it’s a tropical destination wedding in the U.S. Virgin Islands mega post!
buckle up.
travel fact number 84 – flying from san diego to st thomas makes you super thirsty. the free rum punch that was waiting there didn’t last very long.
while the girls were getting ready for the wedding, the guys were practicing their dive techniques off the floating platform at the Secret Harbour Resort.
the virgin islands… where rum flows like wine.
after nailing a perfect triple lutz, alex dried off and slipped into something a little more comfortable… a Tommy Bahama on-som.
meanwhile, danielle was getting ready to slip into this beautiful dress.
Aqua Action Dive Center was on the to-do list, not the i-do list, so danielle would have to wait just a little longer to slip into her scuba gear.
a couple finishing touches and…
ta da!
danielle looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress.
danielle was all smiles on the quick safari bus ride over to Lindquist Beach for the wedding ceremony in the sand
apparently, alex no comprendo’d rule number 7. for your safety – keep off lifeguard stands. love the shot of danielle with the board.
i love it when “the aisle” is a white sandy beach
here comes the bride. oh wait. here comes the flower girl, then the bride.
it was easy to see how in-love alex and danielle are. their smiles were brighter than the white sand they were standing on.
how can one place have this much beauty? it just isn’t fair to the rest of the world.
the virgin islands are an incredible place to be, for a wedding or anything else. being there with alex and danielle made it even better. the following portraits of them are some of our all-time favorites.
danielle and alex were getting a little hot after all that, so they decided to take a run through the crystal clear water.
with danielle being a big fan of deep sea fishing and alex being the biggest fan of U2 our choices for ring shots were pretty easy.
positive is how i live.
after the ceremony everyone hopped in the water and went snorkeling just off of secret harbour resort. kim got this shot of danielle looking all bond girl meets lara croft. not seen in this photo is the crocodile dundee shark knife she had strapped to her leg. knife or no knife, kim was not about to get into the water.
for their reception, alex and danielle led everyone down to the harbor and…
took everyone out for a sunset sail aboard the fury yacht. i’m on a boat!
hooray beer!
danielle and alex chose this flourless chocolate cake with cappuccino mousse for their wedding cake. it was insanely delicioso! and if that wasn’t enough, danielle made the chocolate shells herself.
alex tried to be funny with the cake and liked to got dealt with.
actually, he did get dealt with. the swift hand of justice may, or may not, have been assisted by a purple clad minion.
with everyones heads still spinning from the chocolate, alex and danielle broke out a bottle of midleton very rare irish whiskey and some choice cigars. toasts ensued.
the shot above is one of my favorites. they look so happy and relaxed. this is how everyone should be on their wedding day.
watching the sun set on the water was the perfect ending to the perfect wedding day.
what’s better than having a destination wedding in st thomas?
spending the day after your wedding in st john. trunk bay on st john is absolutely amazing! the water is so clear you think you’re in a swimming pool. a warm swimming pool… with fishies.
as an added bonus when you snorkel around the little island in this picture there are underwater plaques that tell you what kind of coral or fish you are looking at. so cool! among the sea life spotted by our group were tons of small colorful fish, octopus, and barracuda.
to top off this incredible trip, danielle and alex spent their honeymoon caving and zip lining their way through puerto rico. when they finished all that they came back to california and returned to their day jobs as mild mannered action heroes.
thanks to everyone that helped make alex and danielle’s wedding amazing.
