imagine you’re totally swamped at work. you finish one job and instinctively reach for the next one, but find nothing there. about half a second later your mind goes into full-on freak mode and you have to quickly cover your own mouth to keep from letting out the sound of cheer and alerting your boss to the fact that you’re free. right about this time is when your worker drone mentality kicks back in and you start to doubt your senses. you’re afraid to, but ask yourself anyway, “am i seriously all caught up?”
you know that feeling?

we finished all the major stuff from 2011 last week and started doing a little clean up. that got boring real fast so i started looking at janell and rj’s wedding at Elings Park in Santa Barbara. before i knew it i was smiling, then laughing, and remembering how rad their wedding was. that’s when kim and i decided to do a mega post to show you 105 ways to have the best wedding ever. grab a power bar and fuel up! you’re in for some awesomeness.

janell and rj said the bakery at the madonna inn in san luis obispo makes THE best cakes. they were right. they had this one imported just for their wedding.
janell’s dad’s cigar bar was a hit
LOVE this idea! instead of a regulation guest sign-in book, guests painted a square on big canvases for janell and rj.
lbps events and creative services catering teamed up and did a fantastico job.
nothing says “fun wedding” like an ice cream bar… with sprinkles!

the hat janell is wearing here belonged to her mother who was sadly taken far too early by multiple sclerosis. even though her mom wasn’t physically there, i know she was up above, smiling down and laughing with everyone.

janell and rj, we love the stuffing out of you guys. i don’t think you know just how much you have touched our lives. we can’t thank you enough for all the laughs you have given to us, so hopefully our eternal love will suffice.
to any future brides and grooms, this is what a wedding is all about. find your best friend on the planet, have so much fun with them every day that your sides hurt, make a promise to them that you’ll keep forever, and the rest will fall into place.
that’s what i did.

I want to be just like you when I grow up. Or even before then, since I’m not sure that will ever happen. These are AMAZING!! I would blow up that shot of them pouring the champagne and hang it in my own house. Stunning job.
